Health Benefits of Shilajit

In accordance to Ayurveda, Shilajit has been "prescribed" and is used as an effective means to rejuvenate the mind and body, improving memory and maintaining all doshas in balance. Shilajit, or Shilajitu as it is often times called, is deemed to be extremely helpful for the healing of practically any disease or health problem known to modern man. This ancient organic substance, is additionally known as "the conqueror of mountains and destroyer of weakness,"

Shilajit along history

In Ayurveda, you will find eight distinct branches that combine to create the entire composition of the ancient science, including Rasayana, a Sanskrit word which means rejuvenation. Shilajit is considered a Rasayana grass as well as an adaptogen, or a natural herb that increases the organism's natural resistance to stress or trauma, according to herbalists today. These concepts date back many centuries and have been observed both in Indian and in Chinese medicine.

The yogis of ancient India and Ayurvedic medicine practitioners are based largely on the use of Shilajit, ascribing to it divine powers due to the complex composition of this mystifying substance, which, as we now know, is in fact a natural concentration of pressed herbs that are found in the rocks and soil of the Himalayas, it also recently has been found in mountainous areas of Chile in South America.

It is found naturally in parts of central Asia, China, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Tibet, and currently in Chile too. Shilajit is formed through a process that takes many years to complete. The numerous plants that grow in the mountains are varied and rich in nutrients. Throughout the centuries, the plants grow abundantly and eventually die along the seasons, while the nutrients are absorbed into the ground in a process that is repeated again and again, year after year.

Shilajit is made up of fossilized plant life forms that have undergone this process of growing, death, and be assimilated back inside the earth. Every summer during the warmer months, people in the Himalayas travel up the mountain after the ice melts to search for and collect pieces of this substance. Along with the local biosphere, it is said, many wonderful nutrients combine to add to the many beneficial medicinal properties of Shilajit.

The medicinal properties of Shilajit

With over sixty years of modern scientific research, we have a better knowledge of the positive effects that Shilajit produces in humans. Studies have shown that Shilajit, is a substance or humus with a similar formulation to that of the soil humus created by microorganisms that help to break down plant and animal materials and wastes, transforming it back into a substance that can be used again by plant life and humans too.

While plants are the primary source of life, which gives us our food, either directly or by feeding the animals we eat, the humus is the same to plant life. However, compared to other soil humus, the pure organic mass of Shilajit humus is amazing and eighty percent superior.

These humic substances have the potential to make an amazing variety of feats, from improving the environment to neutralizing radiation. They are considered the best of natural medicine, not only for humans but for plants, animals, and even the entire planet itself. Humic substances, such as Shilajit, also neutralize lethal toxins and have the ability to destroy viruses known to modern medicine.

Scientifically, the humic substances that have been identified are composed of antioxidants, which in turn are important to fight diseases like cancer, they also contain amino acids, antibiotics, antifungals and antivirals, enzymes, hormones, nutrients and other biochemicals and phytochemicals. While researchers have already discovered these and other beneficial substances, whole cell chemistry and humic matter remains a great mystery, more studies and research are needed.

According to Ayurveda alchemy, Shilajit has been "prescribed" and is used as a powerful means to rejuvenate the mind and body, improving memory and maintaining all doshas in balance and in harmony with each other. Shilajit and other herbs and spices have been used for a long time in Ayurveda for the pacification of doshas, returning their normal balance to the way nature intended.

Shilajit is also used to treat painful conditions such as osteoporosis, gout, rheumatoid arthritis and other joint diseases, as well as to relieve pain caused injury to the muscles. Intestinal disorders such as gastritis, indigestion or constipation are also improved by the consumption of Shilajit.

The nervous system also benefits from Shilajit, it helps to alleviate nervous disorders, including paralysis, it is also used to control blood pressure, it replenishes the body with many vitamins and minerals such as calcium and magnesium. Shilajit also has been repeatedly suggested for those who have a weaker immune system or general body weakness due to illness or after recovery from surgery.

Chlorella: Health Benefits and Nutrition Facts

Chlorella was discovered and classified in 1890; it is a single-celled freshwater green algae. In its  freshwater environment, the microscopic algae has a large reserve of chlorophyll and a range of rare nutrients involved in photosynthesis by absorbing carbon dioxide, thus saturating the air with oxygen. The heavy-duty cell walls of chlorella protect its nucleus from the effects of unfavorable environmental factors. The middle part of its shell, which is the largest, is composed of cellulose, and the outside, is a carotenoid polymer capable of absorbing toxic elements and removing them from the body. In one microbiology study, lethal doses of toxic elements were administered to yeast culture, and then chlorella was added. It was observed that due to the effect of chlorella, the yeast culture did not die; it was found that the microscopic algae is highly capable of neutralizing the action of toxic substances.

The main advantages of chlorella for health are:

1. Its great amount of chlorophyll

2. The nature of the cell walls of chlorella

3. The presence of beta-carotene

4. Its high concentration of nucleic acids.

The content of chlorophyll in chlorella.

Chlorella is high in protein, vitamins, minerals, and photosynthetic pigments needed by living organisms to synthesize the enzymes necessary for normal metabolism. The most obvious pigment is chlorophyll, which is called "green gold" for the similarity of its molecular structure to a molecule of hemoglobin.

In medical trials, it was noticed that the microscopic algae rich in chlorophyll, is an effective tool in combating anemia, partially attributable to its high content of vitamin B 12, folic acid, iron and amino acids, but it is possible, that in the presence of iron, the chlorophyll gets into the bloodstream, saturates the blood with oxygen and is converted into hemoglobin. Chlorophyll is known not only for these qualities, it is also beneficial to the digestive system; it increases peristalsis in the bowel, normalizes secretion of digestive juices, reduces inflammation, etc. In addition, chlorophyll provides significant support of the cardiovascular system, prevents the development of tumors, has antiseptic and regenerating properties. Even in dentistry chlorophyll found an application. In the mid 40's, this valuable pigment was tested on people suffering from periodontal disease. Subsequently, it was found that with chlorophyll infections of the gums can be neutralized, it prevents some types of stomatitis, stops gum bleeding, strengthens tooth enamel, stops gum bleeding and strengthens tooth enamel.

Chlorella contains 5-10 times more chlorophyll than spirulina and alfalfa. Among the benefits you will enjoy from its use are:

1. Its ability to enhance the immune system

2. It helps to fight infections

3. It helps in the treatment of chronic pancreatitis

4. It plays a large role in the regeneration of cell tissue.

It was found that chlorella tablets help to normalize blood sugar levels in, and mitigate the breath of people suffering from chronic bad breath. Along with other researches, excellent results have been achieved in treating diabetic skin ulcers with topical application of chlorella.

The material that makes up the cell walls of chlorella has a remarkable effect on the intestine. This fiber improves bowel function and stimulates the growth of aerobic bacteria. It is also the chief agent that washes away toxins from the colon. This remarkable ability not only helps to remove toxic organic waste products of the body, but the toxins of the environment, such as heavy metals and pesticides.

Use Coconut Oil to Preserve the Beauty of your Skin

Coconut oil has been famous since the time of Cleopatra, and was considered essential for the maintenance of women's youth and beauty. It was used as a means of rejuvenating and nourishing the skin, and it is still used to this day to preserve a beautiful skin.

It is not hard to guess that coconut oil is derived from coconut, or to be precise, from its flesh, which contains up to 65% of valuable oil. The process to obtain it is the same as in many other vegetable oils, the first step is to separate the pulp from the shell, it is dried, ground, and after that the oil is pressed out. The coconut oil obtained by cold pressing, is a pale yellow mass, with a pronounced aroma of coconut. At room temperature, it has a hardish oily texture (below 76 Fahrenheit it is solid).

The properties of coconut oil are derived from its composition, which is mainly lauric acid, and other saturated fatty acids. It is due to these acids that coconut oil has a solid consistency, but it is very easily absorbed into the skin. When using coconut oil on the face, it can literally take seconds to soften and smooth the skin, giving it a sleek and even-textured appearance.

Cosmetic properties of coconut oil

Coconut oil helps to maintain the health and beauty of all skin types, but especially (as well as many other natural oils), it is recommended for dry, flaky, coarse, and aging skin. This oil has excellent nourishing, softening and moisturizing properties, and after application forms a kind of invisible film on the skin, a protective function, and permanently maintains a proper balance of moisture in the skin. Use coconut oil for the face, to eliminate excessive dryness and scaling of the skin, protecting it from roughing and cracking.

Coconut oil helps to significantly smooth out the skin and works best on shallow wrinkles, improving the overall tone and elasticity of the skin, making it ideal for the care of already weak, flabby, and aging skin.

The application of coconut oil is well suited both before and after tanning. Rubbing the face and body with this oil before tanning can not only protect your skin from harmful ultraviolet radiation, and avoids sunburn, but also helps you get an even tan. A coating of coconut oil after tanning promotes momentary cooling of the skin; it is remarkably handy after sunbathing.

In particular coconut oil can be used to care for sensitive, inflamed and irritated skin, as it has terrific anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and calming effects.

Ways to use coconut oil

It is recommended to use virgin or extra virgin coconut oil for the face, as it is not allergenic, does not clog pores and does not contribute to contamination of the skin. Despite the solid consistency of this oil, application is fairly simple. You should just hold down a piece of oil in the hand, and rub it on the skin, it immediately begins to melt. After that it should be distributed in a uniform layer across the face, including the neck as well. Pure coconut oil can be used as a nourishing night cream, or as a protective face cream in hot sunny weather, or, conversely, when the weather is frosty and windy.
